Lady Mavericks finish their season
with a record of 27 wins and 11 losses












The MLS Lady Mavericks are pictured above at the Minot Municipal Auditorium following the Regional Tournament. It was a great volleyball season for the MLS Lady Mavericks. They finished their year with a record of 27 wins and 11 losses, as well as winning the Bottineau Invitational Tournament held on September 6th, and the Northwest Conference Tournament, which was played in Glenburn on October 11th.

Under the leadership of first year coach, Jaime Adams, and assisted by Mickey Depute, MLS went in to the District 12 Tournament as the #5 seeded team and advanced to the Region 6 Tournament by finishing 4th at the District 12 Tournament October 31st and November 3rd and 4th at Our Redeemer’s Christian School in Minot.

The Lady Mavericks ended up finishing 4th at the Region 6 Tournament.

MLS will lose five players off of this team for next year. Seniors completing their volleyball career with the Mavericks are Emily Abernathey, Callie Carlson, Hailee Depute, Macy Sundahl, and Aubree Vendsel.



MLS wins 7th grade tournament at Glenburn
The MLS 7th graders participated in the 7th Grade Invitational Basketball Tournament held in Glenburn on Saturday, November 15th.

In their opening round game, MLS received a bye as they were to play Kenmare, but there was a mix-up and they did not show up.

The Mavericks then faced TGU-Granville and defeated them 30 to 11. Scoring for MLS: Leah Feland 8, Trinity Guenthner 6, Autumn Smith 5, Janie Savelkoul 3, and 2 points each for Adri Bohm, Ally Feland, Summer Smith, and Fischer Ackerson.

MLS then advanced to the championship game where they played Our Redeemer’s Christian School. The Mavericks pulled off a one point victory, 29 to 28, to win the tournament. Scoring for MLS: Leah Feland 8, Janie Savelkoul 7, Trinity Guenthner 4, Summer Smith 4, Autumn Smith 3, and Hallie Schmidt 2.

MLS vs. Bottineau
On Monday, November 17th, the MLS junior high girls’ basketball teams traveled to Bottineau to play against the Stars.

The 7th grade game was won by the Mavericks, as they defeated Bottineau 29 to 15. Individual scoring for MLS: Leah Feland 10, Janie Savelkoul 9, Autumn Smith 5, Trinity Guenthner 4, and Eden Howery 2.

Bottineau won the 8th grade game, as they edged the Mavericks 19 to 17. MLS scoring: Skylar McLain 9, and 2 each for Grace Solemsaas, Alli Girard, Bella Radzwill, and Hallie Schmidt.
