Historical Society
accepting memberships

For those Renville County residents interested in county, state, and even national history, then the Renville County Museum would be worth your time. School aged students are welcome and encouraged to see what they have to offer. The Museum is open Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. from June through late August. There are a variety of exhibits to depict many roles that history has helped to play in our state.
In addition to the above, there is also a church on the grounds, with historical church information. Also, two quonsets on the grounds contain antique farm machinery and automobiles that are sure to bring back memories of North Dakota’s past.
Trevor Hoyt, president of the Renville County Historical Society, is in the process of creating a Renville County Historical Society Newsletter, where members can go to get the latest society information/updates regarding meetings, pictures, etc. He is also starting a facebook page. To access the page, go to Facebook.com and type Renville County Historical Society in the search box at the top and the page will pop up.
They held their annual meeting yesterday, April 16th, and they hope that you will consider joining the Renville County Historical Society. It is a great opportunity for all to preserve our past for future generations. They strongly encourage new members joining the society, in order to provide ideas that will help them to remain a strong presence in the county. “Looking to the past, remaining in the present, and progressing to the future.”
